Then check out German Mountainbike magazine (05/2022) who went on a mission to find the best pair of tyres for all-round enduro riding. They wanted a grippy front tyre with a faster-rolling tyre on the rear and weren’t looking for the lightest and fasted tyres, nor the heaviest, most bulletproof tyres but tyres that would work well everywhere. Kenda’s lighter ATC casing in 29×2.40 seemed to be a suitable choice to get the job done – and it was! The Hellkat & Pinner combo walked away with the test win, against competitors Schwalbe, Maxxis, Specialized and WTB. Tyres were tested in the lab and in a field test. The Kenda tyres were the lightest set in the enduro category, the fastest rolling together with Schwalbe, and had by far the highest puncture resistance.

The Pinner Pro with AGC (Advanced Gravity Casing) is Kenda’s all-new dry condition gravity tyre. Utilizing strips of Kenda Vector Shield (KVS), a lightweight woven aramid material, positioned under the tread area and along the sidewalls to protect the tyre from cuts and punctures. The KVS material offers nearly three times more cut resistance than standard protective materials. A 20 mm apex along the bead prevents pinch flats and burping. Our lightest and strongest gravity casing to date.

Suggested terrain use: Optimized for hard pack – The tread pattern is done to work best on hardpack, rocky/rooty, and loose over hard conditions.

Which wheel: Can be used front and rear but makes a great high-speed rear tyre when combined with a Hellkat on the front!

Suggested Rim width: Kenda don’t specify a specific rim width, but a 2.4″ wide tyre will be good on anything with an internal rim width from 23mm through to around 33mm. Either side of this you may see some instability.

Weight: Kenda claims a weight of 1297g ±65g for the 29″ and 1178g ±59g for the 27.5″
