Pearl Izumi Summit WXB Jacket

Mama always said- “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing”.  I think Mama was talking about the Pearl Izumi Summit WXB Jacket. This all-weather, helmet compatible, hooded rain jacket will forever change your perception of ‘acceptable’ riding conditions.  

Who’s this item for: This rain jacket is for those riders who get out there regardless of the weather.  

Element Resistance: Rain and wind. But mainly rain. 

Fit Type: Pearl Izumi calls the fit ‘Form Fit’ which is supposed to be snug to the body. 

Materials: The Summit WXB Jacket features the highly breathable ELITE WxB 2.5-layer fabric.  An eco-friendly C6 water resistant DWR treatment sheds precipitation nicely while the fully taped seam construction ensures waterproofing. This garment measures 10K for waterproofing and 30K for breathability.  Terrific for highly active sports like MTB’ing.  You will find a two-way YKK Vislon front zipper, and underarm vents to help manage body heat and water vapor- keeping you dry inside. 

Pockets Position and Quantity: There are two front hand pockets.

Hood: Now this is a hood meant for helmets!  This three-position vented hood slides over the top of your helmet with ease and can also be adjusted for helmetless use off the bike.  Don’t need the hood? No problem, it rolls up and stores away with a simple snap.  Remember that vent we mentioned a moment ago?  That clever feature prevents the hood from ‘ballooning’ when you are charging down the trails doing your best Danny Hart, 2011 Champery imitation. 

Pros: Great looking jacket on and off the bike.  Good level of waterproofing and breathability.  Pit-zips for added ventilation.  Helmet compatible hood. 

Cons: If you want something fluro or colourful you’ll have to look elsewhere.
